Name: Ray Palermo
Type: Other

Name: Ray Palermo Type: Coach Coached(& managed)30+yrs.for several top notch teams - notably Schultz Investments, Commonweath Lumber, Mickey O'Connors, Roulette Pontiac-Honda, & Pepco making his mark mainly in Lake County in the Eastlake & Freeway leagues. Was an integral part of numerous league champions as well as many tournament title teams - notably ASA Metro Cleveland champion Roulette in 1982 & Pepco in 1993 (with Pepco going on to become National Champs). He was the perfect example of a coach i.e. not about him - always about the team. Having him as my 1st base coach for over 17 yrs. (retiring as a National Champion in 1993), I can vouch for his all-around character on the field as well as being a trusted friend.
Name: mike zdanowicz
Type: Player

mike played for over 20 years, most of those seasons hitting lead off w/ tradewinds lounge and he was an integral part of the championships that those teams won in the 80s and 90s. He was a very versatile player able to play every position w/ out any drop off in production either at the plate or in the field and in fact was selected to numerous all star teams at different positions thru out the years. He had a very accurate and strong arm in addition to also possesing outstanding speed on the basepaths and he also had an instinct for the game that could not be taught. To my knowledge mike played for 5 Hall of Fame coaches during his career, sam nader, arle lumadue, bobby miller, gordy dzomba, and dave moushey and i am sure much of their success is attributable to his being in their lineups. He was a fiery competitor who refused to lose and he was also a great teamate. Mike also umpired for 10 years after he stopped playing
Name: mike zdanowicz

Name: Jerry Sulecki
Type: Player,Umpire,

Jerry Sulecki was involved in softball for 50 years from 1951 to 2000 – as a player and as an umpire – in Cuyahoga, Lake, and Geauga Counties. After playing in the Cleveland sandlot leagues, he started playing fast-pitch softball in 1951 when he was sixteen. Eventually he played in the Euclid Major League - primarily for the East Cleveland Merchants, Tube Form, Inc., and Erie Auto Parts teams – and these three teams won the league championship – all with Sam Nader as the Manager. All three teams played for the Cleveland City Championship in an era when every Greater Cleveland ASA team was eligible to participate. This resulted in as many as 250 plus teams playing in one division on multiple fields across Cuyahoga and Lake Counties with a one-and-out format. He played right field for the East Cleveland Merchants team that lost in the 1958 City Final 1-0 at Elks Field. He played center field for Tube Form Inc. in 1960 when that team won the ASA fast-pitch City Championship. In 1962, he was the center-fielder for the Erie Auto Parts team which lost the City Final 3-2. He began umpiring in 1972 as an ASA umpire, working countless youth and adult games for almost 30 seasons. When the USSSA was formed, he worked both ASA and USSSA. Before his career was over he also worked as an NSA and ISA umpire. He worked many ASA and USSSA City Tournament games and many semi-final and finals games as well as umpiring in the Professional Softball League at Daniels Park, Bruce Yee Field and at Softball World. Jerry also served as Vice President of the Lake County Umpires Association as well as being the Lake County USSSA Assistant Umpire-in-Chief before he retired in 2001. He is presently in the Cleveland Football Officials Hall of Fame and the Ohio High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
Name: Tom Maglish
Type: Player

I would like to nominate Tom Maglish to the Cleveland softball hof. I played with Tom in the Bedford and Parma Classic Leauge in the 70's. I feel Tom was one of the best players of that time. He played outfield, hit for high average and had a rifle arm. We played together on Holiday lounge. I feel Tom Maglish deserves and earned his way to be a member of the Cleveland Softball Hall Of Fame. Thank you! Dan chorba
